January 2008
@earcos: it’s not even 5 p.m. yet here. Gotta pace yourself when you’re almost 43! :-)
@Prokofy: Davos has had bloggers since 2000. Even this year, though, I only know of three bloggers going.
I wrote a long post about what I learned in 2007: http://tinyurl.com/2bu3c3
@rycaut: bummer. We’ll have to get you out here sometime. California sucks cause you need a car to go a lot of places.
What I’ve learned in 2007 →
@rycaut: why don’t you come down to Half Moon Bay? We could torment everyone with Seesmic videos! :-)
Raines: yeah, I plan to make MacCamp — my Upcoming.org page has tons of MacWorld events.
And Microsoft is paying attention to podcasts with Zune — Rob Greenlee is working at Microsoft now. That alone will bring attention to …
Not to mention, Apple has sold a crapload of iPhones and those are all good places to listen to podcasts.
And with Utterz and Rondee and other audio services bringing new features, podcasting will get hyped up again.
If you think about it, more people spend time in their cars or exercising, two places only podcasting can reach.
Why will podcasts come back? Because they really never got unpopular. My friends who do them say their traffic is up.
I haven’t left PodTech yet, @dsl. My last day is January 14th. We’ll have an announcement on the 16th.
@centernetworks — it’s high time we got on a PodCast together. I think PodCasts are going to come back in 2008.
Anyone here going to MacWorld? Join us at this: http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/393503/
I’d love to come on Tech Podcast Network. Let’s talk offline.
@GeekNews: we’ll talk more on January 16th. I didn’t say I was starting a blog network. Maybe I’m joining one! :-)
@PatchouliW I guess you missed the whole “pea” thing. @susanreynolds has breast cancer and the pea icon is in solidarity with her.
managing a bunch of bloggers doesn’t sound like fun @mkrigsman says. Who said I was going to manage them? Heheh.
If I didn’t follow, I would have missed the cool photography post that @definetheline just dropped into Twitter.
@apenny says @gapingvoid doesn’t like to follow either. Don’t worry, someday everyone will get the real power of Twitter! :-)
I love seeing all the noise. GeekNews is off to fedex. Raines is having dinner at home. tomas is wrapping up loose ends. Etc. Etc.
The fun of Twitter: reading your posts. I don’t care if I had any followers. 96% of its utility is in following, not being followed.
@shelisrael: I remember New Years eve 2000 when we had a drink for each time zone that joined 2000. That was fun! But not gonna repeat!
Our first announcement about what we’re doing — @rocmanusa is joining me — is on January 16. My last day at PodTech is January 14th.
@StevenHodson: cranky old farts? Heheh. I represent that remark! But we’ll have a bunch of announcements between now and March 1st …
December 2007
@RayS Maryam is asking me to do chores, so I’m off Twitter with this: Happy New Years everyone! Twitter is safe for 2007! Heheh!
Actually now that I’ve been over at Vator.tv I see that’s Bambi’s thing. Thanks @dsl It’s not competitive with what I’m doing.
I’d love to meet up with you Arnold: best place to see me at CES is here in the evening: http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/225589/
@shelisrael got me a bottle of Dom 1999. That’s the definition of a “real” friend! Thanks Shel, when we gonna open it?
How to be a dedicated father? @vincente asks. Milan is going with us to CES and probably Davos. That’s how!
Oh, and @dsl , lots of surprises to come in January starting at CES.
Starting with the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Yes @dsl I’m going to do even more content creation in 2008.
sorry for the scobleStorm @javadog. http://tinyurl.com/yvec5e has more on PodTech and my future.
PodTech has some runway and it’ll be interesting to see what they do with it.
I’ll let the new management at PodTech speak for what they are going to do, though.
podtech, @hgilchrist asked, will turn into an advertising/advertorial production house and maybe more.
I haven’t watched vator.tv @dsl asked. I’ll go check it out.
Australia: keeping the Internet clean for kids →
@fredericl: don’t worry, this is my last post of the night. Have a good New Years everyone!
@gdruckman: but take it out of Twitter. Following more people on Upcoming.org, for instance, gets you more events than other people.
@gdruckman: you’ll listen to more smart people if you follow more people.
@gdruckman: you’ll know news faster if you follow more people.
@gdruckman: if you follow more people you’ll know more things about more people.
@gdruckman: I’ll write more on Influence 2.0 tomorrow.
@gdruckman see @MackCollier for your answer.
@persch5 asks what’s the secret power in Twitter you get? Good question!
@SheilaS: we could do it over on Facebook. Hah!
@SheilaS — we should start a club! “Unfollowed by DSilverman.”
