Scobleizer: Tumblr’s lead dev: “Scoble doesn’t... →
No hard feelings here. You should try my FriendFeed then. Lots of Tumblr lovers there.
marco:
I’m honored that you’re sending so much traffic and attention at my rant, but your blog still isn’t my cup of tea. No hard feelings personally.
Scobleizer: Tumblr’s lead dev: “Scoble doesn’t... →
How did Marco find this so fast if he wasn’t listening to me? Hmmm. :-)
marco:
OK, at least the guy has a sense of humor. My opinion on that, by the way, was formed based on most of his widely publicized statements, speculation, and predictions on Apple products.
Geek blogger worship
Marco doesn’t think I know what I’m talking about. That’s funny, too bad he won’t see what I wrote about Tumblr and him.
marco:
Karmcity posted a story about how some of our most prominent tech/startup bloggers are assholes.
The reason they’re able to be assholes is because in their world — our world — they’re worshipped like gods. If you think they’re assholes, stop...

@Akula: SmugMug is the real deal. Great people, great company.
@chrispirillo seeing you in drag is scary. I thought that was only for our private moments!!! ;-)
Here’s what leelefever is talking about: http://fotoflot.com/ cool way to hang up pictures on your wall.
@leelefever: SmugMug had those in their offices. Great way to hang images.
New way of fundraising: get @chrispirillo on your video show and get him to do stuff for money.
@chrispirillo sure is entertaining here: http://www.wyldryde.org/a/001205.php
@oemperor: if there’s something that you want to know more, just ask.
That page shows that a wide angle lens is NOT wide angle when used on a non-full frame sensor.
@tychay: you aren’t paying attention. Look at this: http://tinyurl.com/2hp9ua
@tychay you need to read this: http://tinyurl.com/ynwonm
The Nikon PR rep is @jratlee — He’s a new media specialist at MWW and Nikon is a client of theirs.
@mkrigasman that was a mistake due to me playing with a new image editor.
tychay: you’re full of it. A 24 on a D3 is a lot wider than it is on the D80.
@tychay: cause I can’t afford medium format and a rangefinder sucks for other things.
Brad made us all jealous at school because we were forced to share a crapy old Nikon one.
I remember when Brad Mangin, now with Sports Illustrated, bought a 300 F2.8 on his credit cards.
Look at that shot and see the guy to the left? He wouldn’t be there if I was using a non-full-frame sensor camera.
@mkrigsman: absolutely. http://www.flickr.com/photos/scobleizer/2116206193/ this shot wouldn’t be the same.
@mkrigsman yes, I’d still buy the 5D. I love it.
@ahockley is right. Skill matters far more than camera does.
@raena says that Canon vs. Nikon is like Mac vs. PC. True, true!
OK, this is too weird. The Nikon PR firm is following our Twitter discussion. I hope he brings a D3 out to a future photowalking.
You put a 24 mm on my camera and it’s a 24mm. Put it on a D80, for instance, and it becomes something like a 28mm.
@mkrigsman: a full frame sensor keeps your wide angle lenses wide. No 1.6x telephoto.
@tigerbeat: I went to journalism school with that photographer. He’s a great guy. Was one of the first pros to switch to Canons back in …
@mkrigsman: I haven’t played with the D300. I like full-frame sensor cameras, which is why I got the 5D.
@gapingvoid I agree with @rickmurray: glad you’re listening to your doctor. Enjoy the time away from here!
@soulhuntre: a lot of people have been bringing Nikons to photowalks and they really love them.
@soulhuntre: I don’t know which system is best for under $1,500 cameras. Nikon might beat Canon there.
There’s a lot of rumors that Canon is bringing out a new 5D at PMA around Feb. 1, so I’d wait to decide on a DSLR system until then.
@PabloSanchez: I am sorry I missed your messages.
@briancaldwell: if you have a D3 you’ll have me slobbering in jealousy.
@Akula the Nikon D3 shoots images at 6400ISO. Canon only goes to 1600ISO at same quality.
@Akula: with the $2k you could buy a faster lens that only Canon sells.
@Akula: the D3 costs $2k more than the 5D. It works in lower light, though, and takes more frames per second.
@iTony: I see your tweets.
@briancaldwell: if you can afford the D3 Nikon, I’d go with that. But for me I’d take the $2k and buy more lenses.
mkrigsman: I slobber over the Nikon D3. I played with that, but not the D300.
Nikon’s lens mount isn’t as wide so they can’t do the faster lenses.
@macgeekpro: yeah, Canon redesigned its lens mount in the 80s. THat lets them do more fast lenses like the 85 F1.2.
http://terraminds.com/twitter/ is Twitter Search, and very useful.
Hmmm, if I get everyone to unfollow then engagement will go up! Why? Cause then you’ll only see my replies to you. Heheh.
@junyor: Twitter is broken. I think I have too many followers.Sorry.
@mckeay, yeah, it needs access to Flickr to work.
@CathleenRitt: it’s a chat room (innovative) that intermixes with photos from Flickr.
@aruni but I’m still following you. @duncanriley is livestreaming on UStream.
@saleemkhan: but the point they are making is it’s bad if Scoble adds noise to the system, but it’s OK if they do.
